HHC A LICENSED PRACTICE?
Yes,
HHC is a professional practice which must be licensed by
the country's Health Authority (HA). Until otherwise
incorporated, HHC is a private pay and for-profit entity
duly qualified to enter into short term and long term home
health care contracts with individuals, hospitals, private
clinics, private practices, government institutions or
agencies, major employers and foreign mission personnel
based in the country. The HA is the regulatory authority
responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of
health care services provided by HHC at all times.
WHO
PAYS FOR HHC SERVICES?
Home health services can be purchased privately by individuals; by private health insurance companies offering coverage for home health services; or by hospitals, clinics, government institutions or agencies, and other groups such as major employers. In all cases, the provision of services and supplies by HHC nurses and therapists is contingent on the patients’ being under a physician's plan of care. Government agencies and private sector employers in the AGCC countries are most likely to pay for its citizens home health services if the patient’s physician certifies that the patient:
